At the midday close, China’s main futures contracts were mixed. Benzene hit the
daily limit. Shanghai crude (SC) jumped more than 6%, styrene (EB) rose over 5%,
asphalt and propylene gained over 3%, and fuel oil was up nearly 3%. On the
downside, red dates, peanuts and rapeseed oil fell more than 2%; polysilicon and
pulp were down about 2%; hogs, palm oil, synthetic rubber and coke declined over
1%.
