Sept 10 — Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said at a regular
briefing he was not aware of specifics after a reporter asked about the Ministry
of Corporate Affairs’ Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) recommending an
investigation into Xiaomi over alleged irregularities in its business model and
compliance with foreign investment regulations. Guo called Sino‑Indian trade
cooperation mutually beneficial and urged India to provide foreign companies
operating in India a fair, just, transparent and non-discriminatory business
environment.
