Iran’s consulate in Hyderabad posted on social media early on the 9th (local
time) that "tomorrow morning our reverse engineers will hold an unboxing
ceremony," attaching an image of a Diving-LD unmanned submersible matching one
the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has displayed as a spoil, Xinhua reported.
Reuters said the post appeared more a taunt than a technical claim, but the
capture gives Iran an opportunity to examine and potentially reverse-engineer a
U.S. unmanned submersible, an outcome the report said would embarrass the
Pentagon.
