Iraqi Oil Minister Bashim Mohammed al-Hudael announced plans to increase the country's oil exports via the ports of Syria and Ceyhan, Turkey, to over 1 million barrels per day. Hudael stated that Iraq exported approximately 3 million barrels per day in September, continuing to adhere to OPEC's production cap, with current capacity not exceeding 4.2 million barrels per day. The future plan is to increase pipeline export capacity via Syria and Ceyhan to over 1 million barrels per day. Hudael said on Saturday that the Iraqi government plans to increase overall export capacity to 5 million barrels per day after completing the construction of strategic oil pipelines to Faishhapur and Baniyas, and will also export oil via the Strait of Hormuz.
