Late on Sept. 10 local time, Algeria’s defense ministry said it will ban
UAE-registered civilian and military aircraft, including inbound and outbound
flights, from Algerian airspace from 0000 on Sept. 11. Commercial civilian flights
services to and from Algiers’ Houari Boumediene International Airport are exempt
and may continue operating until end-2026, when existing contracts expire.
Earlier the foreign ministry said Algeria had severed diplomatic relations with
the UAE effective immediately.
