The Hang Seng Tech Index in Hong Kong rallied in the afternoon, turning positive and narrowing the Hang Seng Index's losses to 0.44%. Tech and auto stocks rebounded from their lows, with Sunny Optical Technology (02382.HK) and Xiaomi Group (01810.HK) both rising more than 2%, while NIO (09866.HK), JD.com (09618.HK), Tencent Holdings (00700.HK), Meituan (03690.HK), and BYD (01211.HK) all rose by 1%.
