Egypt foreign minister Badr Abdelatty said Cairo supports expanding
local-currency settlement among BRICS members, boosting trade volumes and
tapping concessional loans from the New Development Bank under that framework.
He said Egypt’s participation in the BRICS summit underscores its intent to
deepen engagement and cooperation with member states. BRICS account for about
40% of global GDP.
