Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei said a meeting of Gulf coastal states
will be held in Oman next Monday, with Iran, Iraq and other littoral states
attending. Participants will discuss results of Iran-Oman negotiations on
establishing a commercial shipping security corridor through the Strait of
Hormuz; Baghaei referenced an earlier agreement on a temporary transit corridor.
He said Iran is committed to actions to ensure Hormuz shipping security but
warned security cannot be guaranteed as long as US aggression and illegal
interference, including maritime blockade and economic warfare, continue.
