More details are as follows: This meeting, proposed by Oman, aims to formally submit the agreement reached between Iran and Oman on a new arrangement for the Strait of Hormuz.
The new proposal will adopt a Transit Separate Route (TSS) as a temporary solution, followed by negotiations on a permanent solution including service fees.
Iran insists that the Hormuz arrangement is a matter between Iran and Oman, but the issue will still be discussed on Monday. The Iraqi Foreign Minister will attend along with senior representatives from Iran and the GCC. According to a senior Iranian source, the UAE responded later, downgrading its participation level from Foreign Minister to Minister of State. The participation levels of Bahrain and Kuwait are not yet fully confirmed, but are believed to be at the Foreign Minister level.
A senior Iranian political source emphasized that this meeting does not mean the Strait of Hormuz has been reopened.
