Following the US announcement of new sanctions against Iranian airlines, Iraqi sources claimed that all flights to and from Basra International Airport had been suspended until further notice. However, an investigation by Iran's Mehr News Agency at Imam Khomeini Airport revealed that these reports did not align with the current status of flights between Iran and Iraq, particularly at Basra International Airport. Ali Qasani Haidri, public relations manager at Imam Khomeini Airport, told reporters that there are no flights between Iran and Basra, therefore there are no cancellations. Currently, flights from Imam Khomeini Airport to Najaf and Baghdad are operating as scheduled.
