Shanghai established a Proof-of-Concept Platform Alliance on Sept. 12 at the
2026 Pujiang Innovation Forum, the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology
Commission said. The alliance’s inaugural cohort includes 33 proof-of-concept
platforms and future-industry funds covering brain‑computer interfaces, silicon
photonics, cell and gene therapy, and priority industrial areas such as
integrated circuits, smart manufacturing and green technology. The group aims to
shift platforms from fragmented operation to coordinated action, prioritizing
capability mapping, resource sharing, standard-setting and talent development,
and will implement project mutual‑recommendation and joint‑validation mechanisms
to accelerate expansion of the platform matrix.
