President Trump said he is optimistic about resolving the trade dispute with
Canada and that a deal could be reached "soon", but did not say whether formal
negotiations have resumed. Asked if he planned to withdraw from the
US‑Mexico‑Canada Agreement (USMCA), he avoided a direct answer and said he is
pressing for better terms for U.S. farmers. He accused Canada of imposing "400%"
tariffs on U.S. farmers and other barriers and said those measures would be
removed as part of a prospective agreement.
