Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will meet UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham in
Liverpool during a Sept. 15-17 visit that also includes Strasbourg, the Prime
Minister's Office said. They are expected to discuss defense and security,
energy, AI and critical minerals. The meeting coincides with EU-Canada
negotiations on a comprehensive trade-and-security agreement, a process the
statement said is increasing pressure on Burnham as he seeks closer ties with
the EU.
