Sultan Al-Arada, a member of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council and
governor of Marib, said government forces that withdrew from the western coast
are regrouping in Marib and will return to the battlefield. He called the
western coast setback “painful and unfortunate,” blamed the Houthi movement for
stalling the peace process and “forcing the return of war options.” Al-Arada
said government troops remain engaged on multiple fronts and still aim to retake
the capital Sana'a; he added the withdrawn units are reorganizing and “will in
some form return to fighting."
