However, documents obtained by the media outlet show that widespread power outages persisted in Iran on the very day the event took place. Iranian Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi has pledged four times in the past month to end the blackouts, but residential power outages continue, and industrial enterprises report that the situation is worsening. Yesterday's outage was 2.5 times the average level of outages over the past month.
