Tasnim reported Iran's foreign ministry director-general for Persian Gulf affairs said the Gulf states' foreign ministers' meeting originally scheduled for Monday has been postponed at the request of some regional states and by mutual decision of Oman and Iran; a new date will be set. Iran and Oman are in close consultations to coordinate timing.

Yemen government forces said on Sept. 13 that a month-long conflict with Houthi fighters in western coastal areas and nearby islands has resulted in about 2,000 government casualties and more than 1,000 Houthi fatalities, with several thousand wounded. Yemen Republic TV cited a National Resistance Forces statement saying the casualties occurred between Aug. 9 and Sept. 10. The statement said the fighting began after Houthi missile and drone strikes on National Resistance positions and spread from southern Hodeidah along the Red Sea coast into neighboring Taiz province.

The analyst said prior Iraqi investigations had concluded the strikes did not come from Iraqi territory and urged Baghdad to pursue legal and diplomatic responses, warning that silence could be interpreted as acceptance.
