Huatai Securities says renewed Middle East tensions and the approaching
express-delivery peak season are the primary near-term catalysts for the
transport sector in September. It recommends three themes: (1) tanker shipping
exposure — rising geopolitical risk premia plus shipping supply disruptions
should push oil-tanker freight rates higher MoM; (2) accumulate low-position
express couriers ahead of peak season — tightening local price controls mean
peak-season price rises could act as a catalyst; (3) select stocks that combine
dividend yield and growth, and focus on high-growth logistics and low-valued
airlines. Airline valuations and investor attention are relatively low and are
expected to await an oil-price retreat to trigger re-rating.
