National Health Commission director Lei Haichao said on Sept. 14 at a State
Council Information Office briefing the commission will continue to advance
integrated childcare and early‑education services and support communities and
employers to operate childcare providers so residents can obtain nearby,
convenient and relatively affordable care. The aim is to raise childcare
enrollment rates and effectively lower household childbearing, childcare and
education costs.
