On Sept. 12 foreign ministry spokesman Baghaei said the IAEA resolution on Iran was "politicized", that Iran has not breached obligations and the agency found no evidence its nuclear program was diverted from peaceful uses. He accused three European countries and the US of pressuring the IAEA, said US military aggression and economic warfare against Iran continue, and invoked Iran's right to self‑defence under UN Charter Article 51. Baghaei added Tehran will protect its security by diplomatic and other means and urged regional states, not external powers, to guarantee regional security and establish a regional security mechanism.
