Fujitsu announced on Monday that it will begin global sales of its "Monaka" central processing unit (CPU) in November. This domestically produced chip can serve as the "brain" of artificial intelligence systems. The telecommunications and computer company also stated that it will sell domestically manufactured servers to the Japanese and European markets. Growing demand for Japanese-made products in Europe has prompted Fujitsu to offer an integrated product line from semiconductors to servers. Fujitsu stated that Monaka uses a technology called "inference," which allows AI to run with less data and lower power consumption.
