Stockholm — Researchers at Uppsala University and the University of Cambridge
report that lower levels of a circulating protein measured at about 12 weeks'
gestation are significantly associated with higher risk of preeclampsia and
Fetal growth restriction. Published in Nature Medicine, the finding could enable
early pregnancy risk screening and inform development of preventive and
therapeutic approaches.
