Germany will order a fourth signals-intelligence (SIGINT) ship, the defense
minister said on Monday, adding a budget draft has been submitted to parliament
for approval. He said the vessels are vital for situational awareness amid a
deteriorating security environment and can detect signals others cannot; the
navy plans to begin receiving the new class from 2029.
