According to Sky News: Sources say that some of the UK's largest banks will launch a funding round this week to raise tens of millions of pounds for a newly formed UK payments delivery company. The platform could potentially develop into a UK-based payments system and become an alternative to international payment networks such as Mastercard (MA.N) and Visa (V.N).
