MIIT and the China State Planner jointly issued the "15th Five-Year Plan" for
electronic information manufacturing, directing full-chain breakthroughs in
China's integrated circuit sector. The plan targets development of
high-performance processors, high-density memory, and high-reliability analog
and mixed-signal chips; calls for raising IC manufacturing levels by refining
mature nodes and expanding advanced-process capability; and promotes development
and application of advanced packaging and test technologies. It also prioritizes
upgrading wide-bandgap semiconductors and their commercialization (gallium
oxide, diamond), scaling supply of critical equipment, materials and components,
accelerating EDA and IP-core development, and advancing 3D integration
technologies.
