A Gallup poll released on September 2nd showed that 89% of American adults believe government corruption is widespread, a 10-percentage-point increase from last year and exceeding the 72% to 79% range seen between 2010 and 2025. The percentages among Democrats, independent voters, and Republicans were 91%, 90%, and 83%, respectively. By 2025, the U.S. will have the highest rate of this indicator among OECD members, while the OECD median for that period is only 59%.
