China's National Bureau of Statistics said August indicators showed "three steadies, two fast." Production was steady: industrial value added and the industrial production index posted steady growth in August. Employment among the core 30–59 age group was unchanged from July and a year earlier. Prices were stable: CPI rose 0.8% YoY and PPI rose 3.8% YoY in August. The "two fast" were rapid expansion in emerging industries and in imports and exports. The bureau said, despite elevated uncertainty, the economy kept steady momentum and new growth drivers are accumulating.
