Saudi authorities have issued warnings as Yemen-based Houthi attacks approach.
Luciano Zaccara, adjunct professor at Georgetown University in Qatar, said
Houthis are signaling capability and willingness to strike multiple targets and
want the US to know they will focus on degrading Saudi Arabia’s economy
capacity. Speaking on the Iran link, he said if the US seeks to strangle Iran
via naval blockades or sanctions, Iran and its allies could reciprocate by
shifting the war’s costs onto other oil-exporting countries. He added Houthis
now aim to hit strategically important sites, not just secure military gains, in
order to choke the Saudi economy.
