A 24-hour strike in France’s power sector on Tuesday is set to cut deliverability at the Dunkirk LNG terminal to about 4 GWh per day from 07:00 GMT, Fluxys said, versus the terminal’s usual minimum of 9.4 GWh/day. Unions called action at state nuclear operator EDF, Belgian regas operator Fluxys and French regas operator Elengy to protest a Court of Audit recommendation to reduce staff benefits, including access to cheaper electricity. The strike arrives as Europe races to refill gas stocks ahead of winter; France is one of Europe’s largest natural gas exporters and Germany and other gas-dependent countries are behind EU storage targets.
