Photos obtained by CBS News have revealed for the first time the extensive damage and destruction suffered by buildings and vehicles at multiple U.S. military bases in the Middle East as a result of Iranian missile and drone attacks. These images were sent anonymously by active-duty U.S. military personnel. One deployed soldier stated, “Our bases have suffered massive damage, but the American public is completely unaware. We're like standing there with our eyes closed, watching this all happen.” One photo, taken at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, shows a Boeing E-3 Sentinel four-engine aircraft with its rear section directly hit, the tail section separated from the charred fuselage. The aircraft still has a rotating radar mounted on it, crucial for gathering aerial intelligence. Other photos from the base show buildings and barracks destroyed, their wreckage standing alongside unaffected concrete “T-wall” structures. These T-walls, intended as key defensive fortifications against grenade and mortar attacks, proved completely ineffective against the airstrikes. Similar scenes of devastation were also captured at Camp Burin in Kuwait.
