The center will serve as the company’s global battery R&D and production hub—covering materials development, cell design and prototyping—and will coordinate with its Suminoe production development center in Osaka to accelerate development and scale‑up of next‑generation automotive and data‑centre batteries; related technologies and manufacturing processes will be rolled out to Panasonic plants in Japan and to US factories in Nevada and Kansas.
