Republican Rep. Thomas Massie on Sept. 15 filed articles of impeachment against
Defense Secretary Hegseth, accusing him of abuse of power for ordering hostile
military action against Iran without congressional approval. The measure is
unlikely to pass, but Massie used a privileged motion that forces the House to
consider the articles within two legislative days and prevents them being tabled
or delayed.
