The U.S. Census Bureau said on Tuesday real median household income rose 2.6% in
2025 to $87,460 (inflation-adjusted), while the poverty rate fell 0.5 percentage
points to 10.2%. The poverty threshold for a four-person household last year was
$32,970. The data arrives as the Federal Reserve meets to consider whether
inflation still warrants further rate hikes.
