South Korean stocks rose more than 1% on Wednesday to end a four-day decline,
led by a rebound in chipmakers as investors awaited the US Federal Reserve
policy decision for fresh direction. Foreign investors were net sellers of
KRW1.7tn (USD12.4bn) in equities. SK Hynix jumped 4.08% after Refinitiv reported
it is in talks with Intel on first U.S. domestic memory-chip production; Samsung
Electronics gained 2.01%. A Reuters survey shows a majority of economists expect
the Fed to raise rates tomorrow and to hike at least once more before end-March.
