On Sept. 16 Poland’s Armed Forces operational command said it deployed military
aircraft and elevated ground air-defence and radar readiness after Russian
forces used jet-powered UAVs to strike Ukraine. The command called the steps
preventive and said it had not detected any violation of Polish airspace
earlier. The government security center issued alerts for parts of Lublin and
Subcarpathian provinces. Lublin and Rzeszow airports temporarily suspended
civilian flights to allow military operations.
