Von der Leyen said she invited Canadian Prime Minister Carney because they share
a worldview and intend to shift bilateral ties from a trade agreement to a
strategic alliance; the EU and Canada will build a joint prosperity and
economic-security space covering manufacturing, technology, energy, artificial
intelligence, defense and the Arctic.
