Azerbaijani outlet Caliber.Az, citing Israeli media, reports Israeli security
services expect Prime Minister Netanyahu’s aircraft may not land at New York
City airports amid concerns the mayor could block the plane from remaining for
the duration of the visit. Alternatives under consideration include Newark
Liberty International Airport or a nearby military airfield. Netanyahu is
scheduled to depart Sept. 23, address the UN General Assembly on Sept. 24 and
return Sept. 25; the mayor earlier said he would seek to arrest Netanyahu but
later acknowledged he lacked that authority.
