The Federal Reserve's dot plot shows that, out of 18 officials (Wash was absent from the dot plot), 4 believe there should be two more rate hikes in 2026 (1 in June), 12 believe there should be one more rate hike in 2026 (5 in June), 2 believe interest rates should remain unchanged for the remainder of 2026, and no one believes there should be no rate hike at the September meeting. Eight believe there should be two more rate hikes by the end of 2027, six believe there should be one more rate hike by the end of 2027, three believe there should be one rate cut by the end of 2027, and one believes there should be three rate cuts by the end of 2027.
