National Radio and Television Administration deputy director He Biao said on the
17th at a State Council Information Office briefing that the NRTA, together with
the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, will develop this year
integrated TV technical standards to embed set-top box functions in television
sets as software. The standard is intended to create a streamlined terminal—one
TV supporting live and on‑demand services—with a universal remote offering
one‑key power and one‑key channel/program access.
