At the national advanced manufacturing conference CHINA'S LI urged targeted
measures in key sectors to lift advanced manufacturing's innovation,
competitiveness and overall capacity. He called for stronger basic research and
intensified R&D on critical core technologies, faster commercialization of
scientific achievements, scaled application of emerging industries and forward-looking
deployment for future industries, and upgrades to traditional sectors. He
instructed the deepening of an AI+manufacturing initiative, increased guidance
and support for enterprise digital-intelligent (digitized + intelligent)
transformation, and reinforcement of intelligent software and hardware
foundations. He also promoted deeper integration of advanced manufacturing with
modern services and service-oriented manufacturing, cultivation of local
advanced manufacturing clusters with graded upgrades, and continued reform and
opening to strengthen firms' roles and to expand policy support and factor
supply to improve the development environment.
