South Korean industry insiders said on the 16th that lead times for key
components of semiconductor manufacturing equipment have more than doubled,
creating supply shortages. A top executive at a maker of deposition equipment
said parts that previously arrived in 4 months now take about 10 months; a
laser-processing equipment supplier sourcing critical parts from Japan said lead
times may stretch to as long as 40 months.
