IDC: Global smart glasses shipments reached 7.114 mln units in 1H 2026, up 70.5% YoY, with the market shifting toward higher-end, more intelligent devices. Q2 shipments were 3.547 mln units, up 35.3% YoY. By segment, audio and audio-capture glasses shipped 2.494 mln units, up 54%; AR/ER glasses shipped 505k units, up 75.7%; VR/MR headsets shipped 548k units, down 23.3% YoY. IDC expects the industry to accelerate along three vectors: faster product-line differentiation and device innovation (color displays, weight reduction, comfort); accelerated overseas expansion and global footprint; and deeper ecosystem integration with content, AI, payments and e-commerce to drive deployments in office, entertainment, health and education scenarios.
