unchanged. He warned markets may be pricing an autumn hike—especially if other
central banks tighten—but UK economic conditions do not warrant an immediate
increase. Rees flagged fiscal policy as the greater risk, saying higher public
spending could lift domestic inflation and force the Bank into tightening.
