The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China and the Hague
Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) signed a memorandum of
understanding in The Hague to deepen cooperation on global governance. The MoU
affirms the significance of China’s global governance initiatives and commits
both parties to cooperate in line with the initiative’s five core principles to
advance implementation in international law, collaborate on drafting and
executing international conventions, and promoting awareness of a ‘Friends of
Global Governance’ group. China said it will use the MoU to expand HCCH
cooperation, bolster international rule of law and exchanges, and translate the
initiative’s principles into practical international cooperation.
