Former Iranian diplomat and analyst Abbas Khamenyar stated that despite continued military and economic pressure from the United States, Tehran believes time is on Iran's side regarding sanctions, naval blockades, and demands for Iran to return to the negotiating table. Khamenyar said, "I think Iranians rely more on time than Americans, and that's exactly what we're seeing right now." He pointed out, "Domestic pressure in the US, persistently high energy prices, and public opposition to war both domestically and globally are all factors that are favorable to Iran." Khamenyar believes that Iran has so far absorbed economic pressure through planned government measures. He stated that despite high inflation and pressure on ordinary people, the Iranian government has been working to "ensure the supply of goods, guaranteeing the supply of strategic food items and even non-essential goods." Khamenyar emphasized that Iran is simultaneously advancing diplomatic efforts and military preparations. He stated, "We should not forget the military front, nor can we ignore the military preparations needed to counter any US attack."
