Sept 18 — Zhang Xuetao, director of the Real Estate Market Regulation Department
at the Ministry of Housing and Urban‑Rural Development, said at a State Council
Information Office briefing that the ministry will plan and mobilize
construction and sourcing of affordable housing and optimize its supply. Urban
households on subsistence assistance with housing difficulties will be fully
covered as a bottom‑line guarantee. For new city residents, young people and
low-income urban salaried workers, MOHURD said it will allocate rental or sale
housing as appropriate and adopt city‑ and locality‑specific measures to meet
basic housing needs.
