At midday closing, most domestic futures contracts declined, with SC crude oil falling nearly 10%, coking coal down nearly 8%, coke down over 5%, and fuel oil, bottled chips, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), paraxylene, and staple fiber all down over 4%. On the upside, Shanghai silver rose nearly 4%, palladium, European shipping contracts, platinum, and Shanghai lead rose over 2%, while Shanghai tin, eggs, and international copper rose nearly 2%.
