At midday the HSI was up 0.67% and the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 1.74% after opening higher and earlier trading more than 2% up. Chip stocks led gains: Tianshu Zhixin (09903.HK) rose over 13%, Biren Technology (06082.HK) rose about 9%, Huahong Hongli (01347.HK) rose about 6%. Optical-communications names outperformed, led by Xizhi Technology‑P (01879.HK) up about 17%. AI names rebounded—MINIMAX‑W (00100.HK) +13%, Zhipu Technology (02513.HK) +6%. Other strong sectors included liquid cooling, innovative drugs, telecom equipment, Chinese brokers, ADAS, commercial space and new consumption. Weak sectors in the morning session included coal, dairy, batteries, building materials & cement, and ports & logistics. Lenovo Group (00992.HK) jumped over 7%; market capitalization topped HK$450bn, a record high.
