NIO filed a recall plan with SAMR under recall number S2026M0114V and will
immediately recall 686 Firefly pure-electric vehicles produced between Mar 20
and Apr 2, 2026. NIO says manufacturing-process variation may allow the
steering-column torque sensor wiring harness to interfere with the sensor rotor;
in extreme cases this can cause sensor signal abnormalities, illuminate the
electronic power steering (EPS) fault lamp and lead to loss of steering assist,
creating a safety hazard.
