Sept 18 — At a routine briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun was asked
about the 95th anniversary of the Sept. 18 Incident and Japanese commentary
warning that Sanae Takaichi’s security policies risk a return to pre‑war
militarism. China urged Japan to face and deeply reflect on its history of
aggression and to take concrete steps to win the trust of Asian neighbors and
the international community. It said regional countries, including China, must
remain highly vigilant and that it will never allow Japanese militarism to
revive, calling for joint defense of World War II’s outcomes and the peace
baseline.
