China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the CHINA STATE PLANNER, together
with eight other ministries, issued measures to promote recreational vehicles
(RV) consumption, streamlining RV registration, scrappage and driver
training/exam rules. Authorities will study revising the national motor-vehicle
classification standard to clarify RV registration requirements. Small/micro
non‑commercial self‑propelled RVs will follow the service life rules for
small/micro non-commercial passenger cars and will not face a mandatory
scrappage limit; rental small/micro self-propelled RVs' allowable service life
is extended from 15 to 25 years, and travel trailers' from 15 to 20 years.
Regions are encouraged to expand driver-training services and add C6
driving-license test centers to ease licensing for RV users.
